Ai-Petry

The road is on 1,2 km hight. The most impressive is moving from the intermediate station to the top (long 1800 m.), when a carriage moves at the height of 120 m. from the ground surface. The over fall of heights is about kilometer and the angle of getting up is 45 degrees. There is no other route in Europe like this one.

At the top of the rock you can see peculiar cut waterways, from where the Ai-Petri wall, seems to be possible to touch. Looking down from the Ai-Petri top, you’ll see a marvelous panorama of most beautiful towns of the South coast - Miskhor, Koreiz and Gaspra.

The Ai-Petri battlement (1234 meters above the sea level) is the specific feature of the Bolshaya Yalta (Big Yalta) and, certainly, attracts tourists. The edge of the mountain is ending with a cliff, beyond it there is a blue sea that seems to be at a short distance; line of enigmatic mountains, sea and sky, all this creates a surprising picture and has striking harmony. It is really necessary to visit Ai-Petri at dawn to catch the moment, when the fire ball of the sun emerges from a navy blue marine ocean depth.
