mariinskiy dvorecPechersk Pearls

Pechersk is an old aristocratic part of Kiev. At first an upper south-eastern district from Khreschtik Street had been called Clove because of the name of a stream. Sometime later this part of the city was named Lipki because of a cozy lime grove nearby (small limes in Ukrainian are called lipki). Later Russian – queen - Elisabeth chose this place for building her Kiev residence. Because of the nearness to the tsar residence Lipki has become an aristocratic district of the city.

During the tour you will observe Mariinskiy Palace, “Chocolate” House, National Philharmonic House, Klovskiy Palace and will hear a lot of interesting facts about these and other famous Pechersk houses and their inhabitants.
